Engagement / Wedding Story – Tracey & Derek

Engagement / wedding

"The more I look at my rings together in the different lights, I'm falling in love!"

Many moons ago, 17 years to be exact, Tracey had a horrible case of glandular fever.  She was so sick it was not a nice time at all, so was in desperate need of help and support, enter: her knight in shining armour.  Derek tirelessly cared for Tracey during her worst hours, and during this time they developed a strong and lasting bond.  17 years later, Derek laughs that Tracey was delirious with the fever when she said ‘yes’!

This was the second-time around for both Tracey and Derek, so they skipped straight to the wedding band, however this year Derek felt it would be nice to finally get the engagement ring on their 17th anniversary.  (Cue: Nawwwww!!)

Tracey loves ‘different’ and a long time ago had seen a Nurse Practitioner with a rough Sapphire stone set in a ring.  She absolutely loved it and the image had never left her mind.  Now thanks to her lovely hubby, we bring Tracey her very own Sapphire in the rough!

During the design process we played with and tweaked the details such as stone setting (bezel), and band (tapered) and we’ve landed on a piece that sits low on the hand, for practicality given Tracey’s lifestyle, and flush against her original wedding band.

Tracey loves her new retrospective engagement ring, and feels it is “pretty perfectly me”.
