Engagement / Wedding
"I love it - it's so beautiful!"
Cherie had been with Jared for nearly 10 years. They had kids, the house…all the usual responsibilities and commitments of a long and successful marriage. But they weren’t married. Jared just didn’t see the need to. Cherie felt differently. I mean – who doesn’t want a beautiful ring?! Cherie indicated to Jared 4 years ago that she would propose to him on a leap year, and Jared then agreed that ok, no he would do it – just give him time. Four years later and the next leap year was coming up, still no sign of a ring, so Cherie gave him until Feb 29 2024 and he was going to be beat to the question. Thankfully he pulled his finger out, arranged a beautiful walk in a local spot with a gorgeous cascading waterfall as a backdrop, and popped the question!!
He didn’t have a ring but gave Cherie full reign to pick her own, which she was not unhappy about! Cherie couldn’t find anything “off the shelf” that she liked, so decided she would design her own. She had been saving designs she’d seen online and approached Hart & Halo to help pull it all together. She was open to shapes but was after a certain colour, and found that with the kite Sapphire she picked! (She knew it was the one because she dreamt about it all night and woke up knowing she had to have it. <We love this!!)
Now that we knew what shape she was working with, we were able to create a little cluster around the kite to really give it that pop and point of difference she was after. We designed a wee asymmetrical cluster which gave the kite a nice partial frame, and the wedding ring holds a mirrored cluster that then hugs the other side. We designed the wedding ring, and future possible eternity ring, all at once so we could achieve the final overall look exactly as Cherie was looking for. We are so happy that for your 10 year anniversary Cherie you will be rocking a gorgeous new heirloom that encapsulates your story. Congrats Cherie and Jared!
