Engagement / Wedding Story – Kate & Cody

Beautiful Kate came to us with her current engagement ring – Cody had proposed a few months earlier however unfortunately Kate was reacting to the ring!  (Some jewellers use alloys in their White Gold, such as Nickel, which can cause skin sensitivity / rashes for some people.)  The other thing with her ring was that Cody had picked a Tanzanite, however the bright colour just didn’t really go with what Kate wore.  Thankfully Cody was very open to having the ring re-made.

Kate approached us wanting to use the Diamonds in her current ring, but obviously not the metal or the Tanzanite.  She wanted a Sapphire as the centre stone which was more ‘neutral’ in terms of going with what she wore, more durable for a lifetime of everyday wear, and she wanted it set in a similar style to her current engagement ring.  (Her mum had a similar style engagement ring, and Kate had always loved it and wanted a similar design one day!)  Kate visited us and was able to view our Sapphire collection in person.  She chose a beautiful oval teal Sapphire that wasn’t listed on our website.

We discussed the design she’d like, and how and where we would use the Diamonds from her current engagement ring (there were a few different sizes).  And we talked through the white metal options and decided that Platinum with its hypoallergenic properties would definitely be best!

Then we got to work crafting Kate’s dream ring.

Kate was over the moon with the result.  She loved it, and was so happy that we could take elements from the ring Cody had proposed with and adjust it to be just right for her.  Now just like a trusty pair of jeans, her gorgeous new Sapphire will go with everything!  Thank you for the trust Kate, and a harty congratulations to you and Cody!
