"It is mesmerising I love it!"
Andrea and Brittany’s story began with a bit of sliding doors timing. Andrea was in Canberra on exchange for just a few months when they met, but only three months later she had to return to Italy to finish her PhD. Then Covid arrived, and what was meant to be a temporary separation became three years apart. After a long and difficult stretch of trying to get back, Andrea finally returned, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
When it came to proposing, Andrea had always imagined waiting until everything in life felt perfectly sorted. But eventually he realised there probably wasn’t going to be one magical moment when every duck was neatly in a row. What he did know was that he wanted to marry Brittany, and that made the timing pretty simple. There was no better time than now.
For the proposal, Andrea planned a weekend away in the Hunter Valley and booked them into an alpaca farm. The staff were in on the plan and helped stage an impromptu little photoshoot, telling Brittany they needed a couple to model a new area of the farm. Somehow, Andrea managed to pull the whole thing off without raising suspicion, and the proposal was captured in photos and video. The next day, they celebrated with a hot air balloon ride, which feels like a fairly spectacular way to start an engagement.
The ring journey had actually begun well before Andrea got in touch with us. Brittany had been sending him Hart & Halo designs on Instagram for a while, without really noticing they kept coming from the same place. Andrea, however, had noticed. Once we started designing together, he quickly discovered how much he enjoyed the bespoke process itself. Being able to shape the design, send feedback and watch it evolve made the whole experience feel more personal, and every new design email became something to look forward to.
For a story that involved years of waiting, the final decision was beautifully simple. Stop waiting for perfect. Choose each other. And make something completely their own.
