Junior is a bit of an artist – not officially, but he is. Angie had the brilliant idea of using his art to create their forever rings and engaged us to bring this idea to life. There are a number of ways this could be done, and we presented each of them to Angie with the pros and cons of each. We managed to land on a method that allowed us to imprint deep enough into the metal to ensure the engraving would last (not just rub away with time), but also with a hand-engraved finish gave us the detail Angie was looking for in the finished piece.
We started with Junior’s ring. Transcribing the pattern he had sketched onto his ring. They added a couple of Diamonds into the palm trees, symbolising ‘him and her’.
With Angie’s ring at half the width, we played with the idea of shrinking the pattern to fit but found that it was too busy in such a small frame. Angie came up with the idea of using the middle panel of the pattern in the sketch as the full band for hers. Brilliant! She also ‘loved bling’ (don’t we all! ;)) so we added a row of the same size Diamonds as in his version down the sides of hers – bordering the central palm tree panel.
Angie is thrilled with the result, the intricate details we managed to achieve in bringing Junior’s art to life! Such a meaningful design that they both get to wear everyday forever. Congratulations you guys!
