Engagement / Wedding Story – Cat and Wim

Cat and Wim, outdoor adventurers from Wanaka, made a special stop in Auckland to see us. Cat arrived with a clear vision: a deep green oval Sapphire. But when she saw our collection, she was spoilt for choice. After a lot of deliberation, it was a vibrant teal-green Sapphire, with its mesmerizing blend of forest and water-like hues, that became her very own heirloom.

Designing her ring was its own journey. Cat was drawn to a balance of modern and antique. Her final choice: a collet setting with bold feature prongs that celebrate timeless craftsmanship. The twisted split band added a contemporary touch, reflecting her individuality without being overly bold.

Underneath, we played with the petal detail. Four or five. But in the end, it was the symmetrical four-petal option, flowing beautifully into the prongs, that simply felt right.

In the end, the solitaire teal-green Sapphire remains the star. A one-of-a-kind piece that captures both their journey and the enduring beauty they were searching for.
