"She said yes! Totally just cause she wanted the ring!"
Ryan came to us looking to design an engagement ring for his future fiancé. He had ideas but wasn’t sure how to execute. He thought birthstones could be nice. She is Topaz (November) and he is Peridot (August). Given it was for an engagement ring which will be worn every day and needs to be designed to last a lifetime, Ryan considered instead using Sapphires to represent those birthstones. Sapphire being the hardest coloured stone, and having the full breath of colour range, was the perfect option.
Ryan wanted a blue Sapphire that held the bright hues of a Topaz. He went through our range and immediately felt drawn to a stunning trillion that replicated those hues near perfectly. Its 3 sides being the ultimate meaning of divine wholeness, completeness and perfection – what she was to him. Next was the green for his Peridot. He carefully selected a beautiful round green Sapphire that paired with the blue trillion like they were meant to be. Blue and Green – just so happened to be the colour of their eyes too!
Ryan wanted their kids to be part of their story. Between them they had 3 wonderful daughters. He consciously selected 3 small round Sapphires each in different shades of pink and orange – a representation that each daughter was very much their own person. We played with how these stones orbited the Toi et Moi (“you and me”) central stones and landed with a spaced out placement that gave it an all-over heart shape. The final design also somewhat reminiscent of an art palette – which is her pastime hobby!
Tamsin loves the ring and immediately saw “Its you, me and the girls!” in its design. Not just a beautiful ring, but incredibly sentimental too. Love you guys – Congrats on your engagement Ryan and Tamsin!
