Just Cause – H

H came to us wanting to create a forever piece that would represent her family.  Her thoughts were that these would be a collection of their birthstones – Citrine for her, Sapphire and Emerald for their two boys.  (She didn’t feel her hubby needed to feature on this one because he was the engagement ring!). After spending a bit of time with us, discussing the stones, she realised that she could represent these birthstones using Sapphire, which is a far superior material that will not only withstand the knocks and bumps of everyday life, but will not fade or change appearance over time.  A forever piece.

H chose a greenish yellow oval Sapphire for her centrestone, representing Citrine, her birthstone.  She liked the way this tied well into the boys’ colours.  And then a traditional blue round Sapphire for one son, and a lovely green pear Sapphire for her other son (representing an Emerald).  We played around with the design, moving stones left and right, tilting, turning, adding some, taking others away, and we landed here, with her design.  Her gorgeous yellow centre stone enveloped in a semi-bezel of warm buttery 18k Yellow Gold, and her two boys nestled in snuggly on one side, the angles just right, to create a totally unique, asymmetrical design that H is just in love with.  We wrapped the whanau with a beautiful reverse tapered band to really give that feel of togetherness as one.
