Just Cause – J

While perusing our gorgeous stones and playing with the Ring Designer, a stunning blue stone caught her attention and suddenly she found herself getting very excited indeed.  Blue is J’s favourite colour and this one just seemed to hit all the right notes, a gorgeous lustre and shine in the perfect hue.  This is exactly the reaction we look for with our stones – when you know, you know!  Trialling different settings for this gorgeous stone, J found one that very much set her heart aflutter.  J likes clean straight lines and geometric angles, and the Nova design achieved what she was looking for.  With her chosen stone set within the Nova, she didn’t have to think too long or hard about it.  “As a widower, who is going to give me these pretty things?  No, if I want something, I have to give it to myself.  I never really thought about getting myself a ring, but thought ‘why not?’ and now I can’t wait!”

After speaking to J and understanding her preference for clean straight lines, not to mention a bit of bling, we decided to source larger trapezoid diamonds that would butt up against her Sapphire and create the perfect angled gradient from centre out.  We then gently tapered the band to continue the angles down through the whole design.  We raised the stones to be sitting higher and almost flat across rather than wrapping around her fingers, as was J’s preference.  And finally we created a custom oval shape for her ring, as it allowed J to turn and twist the ring off her arthritic fingers a lot easier.  When J saw the finished design prior to crafting, she could barely contain herself.  She rung us in almost breathless excitement “I can’t even think straight I’m so excited, I’m tingling! I’ll be walking on air for the rest of the day!”

Working through these details, the results speak for itself.  A gorgeous blue Sapphire nestled amongst a lot of glistening diamond.  The type of ring you only dream about.  J is beyond happy with her “me” purchase, and we are stoked we could make that dream come true.
