Description
This substantial 2.57ct blue Sapphire has a wonderfully moody depth, with rich inky colour through the centre and vivid flashes of brighter blue appearing around the edges. While it is not formally classified as royal blue, it certainly carries some of those regal intonations, especially when the light wakes up its more saturated notes. At this size, she has real presence: stately, sophisticated and not exactly the shy type.
Its bold octagonal shape gives the stone a strong architectural character, with clipped corners and broad facets that suit its impressive proportions beautifully. This would make a commanding centre stone for a bespoke Sapphire engagement ring or a future heirloom with a more contemporary edge. Platinum or white gold would keep the look sleek and tonal, while yellow gold would create a rich contrast.
