Special Birthday – Renee

Renee was celebrating a milestone birthday and her lovely hubby felt that was the perfect time for a big, ‘not-your-every-year’ type of gift.  Bring on the jewellery. 

Renee had been fawning over our designs for a long while, and to be able to design her own ring which represented her family was next level exciting and cool.  An engagement and wedding ring set doesn’t need to be the only pieces of special jewellery you acquire during your life!  (In fact, the ring that celebrates your journey, the family you have created, who you are today, is arguably much more special and significant!)

The stone
Renee has 2 beautiful kids, and the family was very much a beach fam.  They took off to their bach whenever they had a spare day.  So to centre the design around their happy place was an easy decision for Renee.  She fell in love with a beautiful oval Blue Sapphire which reminded her of the ocean.  Its stunning bright blue swirled with different tones really made it come alive.  It actually had a London Blue Topaz type colour, November’s birthstone, which coincidently is her children’s birthstone too.

From there though, the decision of what kind of design to create was not an easy one.  After combing through Pinterest she realised she was a symmetrical fan, so we got to work with combining the beach theme, incorporating her kids, and wrapping it up in a symmetrical design – and it all started coming together.  Renee liked the 5-stone design idea, and was keen to use yellow to represent her kids, so we sourced her 2x yellow princess cut Sapphires to hug in to her oceanic -themed Sapphire.  From here a couple of tapered baguette Diamonds finished it off beautifully and allowed her ring to span the full width of her finger.  Then down to details and she wanted her central Sapphire to ‘hang’ in its setting in a way that mirrored her engagement ring.

Such a beautiful piece that has captured those beach vibes perfectly.  We couldn’t be happier with how she turned out.  Neither can Renee – she can enjoy her own private family oasis every single day.
