Sophie’s nanna & grandad were married in 1950.  When her nanna passed away her Aunty asked her father (Sophie’s grandad) what she planned to do with the ring, and he said he would like Sophie to have it.  Her Aunty though told him she had always wanted it and so when he too passed away, it was Sophie’s Aunty who inherited it.  When Aunty met Sophie’s partner Dylan, she showed him the ring and told him that if he ever wanted to propose to come and see her.  He was a bit nervous and it took him a few years, but this sentimental heirloom has now become Sophie’s engagement ring!  So very very special. (thank you Aunty!)

When it came to planning for the wedding ring, Sophie knew she’d have to get a custom made ring to fit the unique shape of her grandmothers ring.  She wanted a chunky organic design – smooth wavy curves as if it had simply been molten and set.  She’d always loved the Emerald cut, so decided to tuck a Diamond half-way into the top, offsetting the trio of Diamonds on her grandmother’s ring.

The result? A sleek edgy Wedding ring which contrasts beautifully with the intricate design of her vintage Engagement ring.
